ABOUT PERFORMANCE RHYTHM

Strong organizations are built by resilient people.

Performance Rhythm exists to help organizations create the internal conditions where people can perform, lead, grow, and thrive—professionally and personally—while driving exceptional organizational success, sustainable growth, and long-term impact.

THE ORIGIN

Built from Real Organizational Pressure

17 Years in the Trenches

Shane Curtis spent more than 17 years leading teams in healthcare technology across sales, marketing, customer success, customer service, customer implementation, and organizational leadership.

He led through growth, scaling, competition, and pressure. He worked with talented people. People with intelligence, skill, motivation, and genuine commitment to their work and their teams.

The Pattern He Noticed

Yet over time, Shane noticed a pattern: many of these capable people weren't struggling because of skill gaps. They were struggling because of something deeper—chronic stress was silently undermining their capacity to think clearly, communicate effectively, make good decisions, lead with presence, and recover between high-stress periods.

They were running on empty. And no productivity system, leadership program, or motivation speech could fix that.

The Insight

In 2018, Shane began exploring breathwork, meditation, and nervous system regulation personally. Through that work, he realized that much of what he had considered normal—constant stress, reactive decision-making, inability to disconnect—was chronic dysregulation.

And he realized something else: calm, focus, clarity, and presence could exist without burning out. Performance and wellbeing weren't competing priorities. They were complementary.

Why Performance Rhythm Was Created

Performance Rhythm was created from a single conviction: sustainable organizational performance requires attention to the human systems behind the work. Not through wellness clichés or motivational speaking, but through grounded science, practical tools, and sustained practice.

When organizations pair individual skills with supportive working conditions, they create a stronger foundation for clear decisions, communication, psychological safety, recovery, and sustainable performance.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The Belief Behind Everything We Do

Human flourishing and organizational success are not competing priorities. They reinforce one another.

People Are Assets to Develop

Organizations don't achieve their potential by treating people as expendable resources. They achieve it by investing in the human capacity that drives performance.

Internal Balance Drives External Performance

A person's internal state—their stress level, presence, clarity, and resilience—can influence performance, communication, decisions, and leadership.

Recovery Is a Performance Requirement

The goal isn't less ambition or softer performance targets. The goal is sustainable performance achieved through adequate recovery, not burnout.

Nervous System Regulation Is Learnable

Calm, focus, and resilience aren't personality traits you're born with. They're skills developed through practice, understanding, and support.

THE CURRENT REALITY

What Organizations Face Today

Most organizations understand that people matter. But many don't fully grasp what's actually limiting their people's capacity.

Chronic Stress Is Normal

Leaders and employees operate under constant pressure as if it's a permanent condition. But chronic stress degrades decision-making, communication, and leadership presence.

Burnout Is Rising

Burnout is an occupational phenomenon shaped by chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. Workload, resources, leadership, recovery, and organizational conditions all matter.

Traditional Leadership Programs Miss the Root

Leadership skills can be harder to apply under sustained pressure. Nervous-system literacy adds a practical layer: recognizing state and creating enough space to respond intentionally.

Wellness Programs Don't Go Deep Enough

Generic wellness programs feel disconnected from work. People need practical tools that work in real workplace contexts.

Recovery Is Invisible

Recovery is often less visible than output. When long hours become the default, organizations can overlook the capacity costs that accumulate over time.

OUR APPROACH

How Performance Rhythm Helps

We work with organizations to embed nervous system literacy and resilience into how leaders and teams operate.

1

Awareness

Help people recognize their own nervous system state and understand how stress affects their thinking, communication, and leadership.

2

Practical Tools

Teach evidence-informed practices—including breathing, grounding, and meditation—that can be adapted to brief, real-work situations.

3

Sustained Practice

Build rhythms of practice that become part of how people work, not a separate wellness activity.

4

Cultural Shift

Create organizational cultures where regulation, recovery, and presence are understood as performance enablers, not luxuries.

OUR VISION

The Future We're Building Toward

We believe organizations that consciously develop human capacity are better positioned for sustainable performance.

Leaders Who Lead With Presence

Leaders who are clear and emotionally present can create better conditions for teams to perform, learn, and contribute.

Cultures of Psychological Safety

Psychological safety supports speaking up, honest communication, learning behavior, and collaboration.

Sustainable High Performance

Performance that comes from health and capacity, not heroic effort and burnout.

Reduced Turnover and Stronger Retention

Growth, support, meaningful work, and healthy working conditions can all contribute to retention.

HOW WE OPERATE

Our Core Values

Human-Centered

People don't leave their humanity at the office door. We design for the whole person—professionally and personally.

Scientifically Grounded

We translate research from psychology, occupational health, leadership, and stress science into practical tools—and stay clear about evidence limits and context.

Practically Focused

Tools must work in real work. We design for busy people in high-pressure environments, not ideal conditions.

Authentic Partnerships

We partner with organizations that genuinely believe people matter. We're not interested in surface-level checkbox initiatives.

Long-Term Thinking

Our success is measured by lasting change in how organizations think about human capacity, not one-time events.
